Frequently Asked Questions

We want you to feel comfortable at your first appointment, especially if you have never been to a chiropractor. Here are some frequently asked questions to help alleviate some concerns you may have. Please feel free to contact us if you have additional questions and we are happy to help.

Your first visit with us will start with a consultation. We will ask you about your Medical, Family and Social history, current condition and then perform an appropriate examination. A chiropractic examination includes physical tests, neurological, orthopedic and an evaluation of your spine and posture. Depending on the complexity of the case, we may recommend X-rays, MRIs, blood work or other tests to get a more complete picture of the nature of your condition.

After the examination, we will explain your condition and talk to you about any other concerns you have. We will also provide you with a treatment plan, to get you on a path to wellness.

No. In general you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor.
During a chiropractic adjustment, it is very common to hear a popping noise. Sometimes it can be startling for people who are not used to receiving chiropractic adjustments. This noise is completely normal. It is a result of small air pockets of air inside the fluid of your joints releasing during the gentle stretching of joints. It is painless and can happen in any of your joints, not just your spine.
Yes! Chiropractic treatment is completely safe. Chiropractors are licensed doctors who have been through Chiropractic school. To practice in the state of Texas are required to pass Part I, II, III, IV National Board Examinations, a Physiotherapy National Board Exam and a state exam. They are also required 16 Post-graduate continuing education hours annually to maintain a license to practice in Texas.  Receiving chiropractic care can help put you on your path to wellness.
Absolutely. Our practice is family oriented and we provide chiropractic care for all ages. When it comes to sports, it is important that physical health is not overlooked. Playing sports on what seems to be a simple injury can end up doing a lot of damage to joints or muscles in the long run.
Chiropractic needs are different for everyone and depend on your condition. After you come in for a consultation, we will provide you with a care plan tailored to your needs. People need regular chiropractic care in order to have a quality life.
You can bring your insurance card with you on your first visit or fax it to us before your first visit. We will call your insurance company and find out what your Chiropractic benefits cover. We will let you know if there is a deductible, what that amount is and how much your co-pay will be. Depending on what type of exam and what office procedure amounts will vary according to what the doctor’s treatment plan is for your unique condition. All will be discussed on the second day at the Report of Findings where treatment plan and finances will be discussed and agreed upon.
Managed care is different for each person according to the coverage.
