New to Chiropractic

Those new to Chiropractic do not always know the many benefits it brings. Most do not understand the body’s physiology and how a doctor of Chiropractic can help. This is accomplished by adjusting the spine and supporting the immune system with supplementation and proper nutrition.

The job of a Chiropractor is not only to address the pain but to investigate the source of the problem. Just like most practitioners, Chiropractors may use one or a combination of examinations to determine the underlying problem. They may utilize your vitals, body measurements, posture analysis, evidence-based outcome measures, x-rays, CT, MR imaging, blood and urine chemistries to develop a treatment plan to best address your individual needs.

Next the doctor will begin a course of treatment that will involve adjusting the spine using their hands or skillfully utilizing a Chiropractic instrument to make corrections. If deemed necessary a Chiropractor may do muscle work using their hands or instrument assisted techniques like myofascial release, applied kinesiology, and Gua Sha soft tissue mobilization. They also may use taping techniques like Rock Tape and Kinesiotaping to assist with injuries and give support. As the body heals with the proper corrections pain decreases and the body returns to its normal functions. Then the Chiropractor will show preventative measures that may range from regular adjustments, specific exercises, stretches with progressions, nutrition, and many other holistic avenues to decrease chances of a regression or flare-up.
